Is walnut shells safe to use with tarantula slings as long as no sharp edges.

They could be used, just watch out for any mold that may form.

They look cool too. They get moldy asap in my climate though :(

Couldnt hurt to soak and bake incase they are fumigated

Look up Juglone. I'd make certain the shells aren't from the Black Walnut tree as a safety precaution. They, the presence of Juglone, would likely retard or kill any plants you wanted in the containment. Juglone has also been associated with people developing blisters on their hands after handing and lesions in the mouth.
