People don’t get that i am not afraid of Tarantulas. And yet, an invasion of sac spiders… 🤯😱😬
I like most spiders. Doesn't mean I want them dropping on me though. I get it.

The ones I cannot stand and have to get rid of are Pholcidae.

I don’t mind spiders in the house. Some have been allowed to make their webs in designated areas.

but the yellow sac spider, is way to at home in my bathroom. At one time, their were hundreds of spiderlings dropping on me while i bathed.

There were so many at one time, i considered getting ichneumon colonies.

i take everything outside. Except jumpers. Those have free reign. I discriminate with class.
I’ve never had baby spiders fall on me while taking a shower.. that’s wild !😜
I don’t see yellow sac spiders anymore inside the house centepedes and cellar spiders rule the t room and house .🏠 everything else just visits ..

Why is that?
I've become fed up with them myself so I'd like someone else take.
I don't "hate" them so please don't misunderstand. I know they have their place in the natural world as much as any other animal.

For me and my other half, the issue with them is their spindly "Ridley Scott Alien" mannerisms.

I guess they elicit some type of primordial feelings that most other spiders do not.

I totaly get what you are saying. The makers of Alien really got the concept of a molting spider. They nailed it. I Love those movies.

but i don’t like things in home that remind me of such creatures. I don’t “hate” any invert. If i find myself using such a word in conversation, it is more about me expressing my low tolerance.

that being said, i do believe that Xenomorph is the perfect predator. I love Alien. Even if the new movies can be a bit too blockbustery, to me, they are and will always be cult. Can’t wait for Romulus.

Oh boy the directing and lighting, photography 🤯… the music and ambiance… what a thrill. The truth of how mankind would just send out peoppe to die, to collect a specimen. Pfft.

This 💯

It's not even babies or MMs. The ones that bother us are the mature females. They look like the face huggers from Alien.

I don't bother them outside but if they're in my bedroom then it's like the national geographic series "Dead by Dawn."

I get you. I really do. Thats how good they did it. Since a child i am haunted by this. The other day I looked at one of my tarantulas molting and thought: well there you go, that is where they took the Alien from.

they tried the same with Predator. But, that creature does not come off so raw. Its way to an·thro·po·mor·phized. That word there.

It's kind of funny the different slants peoples thinking takes. When I first got up close and personal with Phollcids here in Thailand I was 1, fascinated and 2, tensed out frustrated.
Fascinated in how adeptly they are able to move in those all but invisible web and frustrated by how inept they are and wrangling mosquitoes. 9 out of 10 just duck and dodge eventually finding their way out of the web. I even wrote Rod Crawford to ask about them and he explained they had no sticky lines so they literally had to get the prey in their faces with at least two front legs available to grab. Along the lines of snatch a mossie out of the air with chopsticks. He also mentioned the different Pholcid species have two very different capture techniques. The ones around here are all about wrangle and wrap while others deliver lightning fast nips as they wrangle.
