Okay, I have a pretty bad chest cold, and I was gonna spend the day in my room with a vaporizer on with Vick's Vapo-Rub in the vaporizer's medicine cup...

And, all my Ts are in my room... Should I move them? Or will the Vick's hurt them at all...

Vicks

Eucalyptus has been used as an insect repelent/insecticide and I think menthol has been used as the same. But I don't think there would be a problem. Nicotine in a strong insecticide and people smoke around there T's all the time with no apparent effect. Hope you get to feeling better.

You know, it's funny that you mention the thing about smoking around the T's. My husband smokes, and since I've started collecting T's I've been getting on him about the fact that I think it could hurt them. Also, we cook a lot, and tonight we bruned chicken and had a room full of smoke. I don't think having a smoky room occasionally will hurt them but all the time we might all end up with Asthmatic T's. As for the vicks....humm..I think the humidifier may help them,(high humidity) but as for as the actually chemicals in the Vicks I would not know the effects.

Asthmatic tarantulas? Tarantulas have booklungs, and their respiratory system is entirely different from humans (mammals in general). I highly doubt they could have asthma.

However, I remember reading somewhere, in an article, about the effects of cigarette smoke on spiders...

FYI....The nicotine that is used as insecticides does not come from the smoke. If it's going to be effective, then it has to be removed from the tobacco dirrectly...IE, soaking the tobacco and spraying the infected areas with the tobacco water....That's why people can smoke around their Ts and other "bugs", there isn't enough nicotine in second hand smoke to do anything.

As for the vapor rub, I wouldn't chance it.
