Nice snakes, Lelle. Is the Vipera sp. sexually dimorphic, or do those two just happen to have big differences in color?

That snake is bada$$.
I had to look and look to find its head. Another animal would have no idea where to strike at its head.
The diamonds on its side was where I was looking. Talk about camouflage. WOW!!!
How hot is it?

MrT,

they are nice huh? :) This particulary gabon are extremely red, the pictures dont do it justice at all.
And they are very potent, and huge amounts of venom in the bites plus the longest fangs of all snake species (longest was measured 5cm! Thats around 2 inch!), and a very nervous temperament and the ability to strike in all directions (even backwards!) makes them a highly dangerous snake.
When they go off they go ka-boom! :)

They are very fast as many in Bitis genus are. Gabons tend to calm down with age but still they are unpredictable.
I got a few more pictures of the viridis on my websites gallery, ill take some pictures of the set up later on.

man those kick ass. I am way to paranoid to own venemous snakes though. But those are fantastic.
