Perhaps we need another classification for those who create their own homes. They are not arboreal, terrestrial or burrowers. There are many species that don't live in trees, on the ground or underground, but simply wherever they happen to be when the web up a home!
. I'm guessing somewhere along the line tarantulas moved from the old world to the new world and evolved into tarantulas without them. Because some tarantulas in the new world have them and some don't, while most if not all in the old world still have them.
