Does anyone know where I can find information on what Tarantula species have which type(s) of urticating hairs? I just read that there are 6 types- I, II, III, IV, V and VI (supposedly III is the most irritating).

Thank you, that was informative. I'd like to find more specific information about what species has which types of Urt hair, for example, Brachypelma Albopilosum.
From what I posted earlier said:

Type III
urticating hair is typically found on the species of "Theraphosa spp.", "Nhandu spp.", "Megaphoboema spp.", "Sericopelma spp.", "Eupalaestrus spp.", "Proshapalopus spp.", "Brachypelma spp.", "Cyrtopholis spp.", "Iracema spp." and other genera of subfamily Theraphosinae (Rick West, 2002).
They did mention Brachypelma in that section. Dunno if it fits for all of 'em, though.

I don't think there's an official paper documenting this for all NW Ts. I think the only way you will reliably learn this info is by getting the original scientific papers which have said info for each species.

Reading through scientific articles is pretty hard on me. I have to really take my time to fully understand what I'm reading.

Here you go. It wasnt exactly hard to find these :p
If you have trouble reading scientific papers then try the 2nd link first

Yeah, I figured. Hopefully, they'll list all the species known with an urt hair type for each one some day.

That's a lot of info but they also don't list for all the species. I tried searching and couldn't find what I was looking for. :p

Sort of on topic, I still laugh when I remember the member who had an avic who showed affection by rubbing its abdomen on it's human. lol So many types of urticating hairs -- in fact, that thread taught me that some 'kick hairs' and some 'rub them' on you (like avics). Also, I am careful during maintenance realizing how many disperse hairs in their webbing. So two-fold: types of hairs and methods of dispersal.
I suppose in simple terms, at end of day, types of urticating hairs matter, but practically; it's more how keepers are exposed to 'whatever' type that I worry about most.

I don't think that will ever happen unless it's someone's personal project, found in a book or on a webpage. Plus, that information would not be original research, and would not be published by itself.

The closest complete paper like that is the Bertani paper.
