I've been haired by multiple Grammostola and Brachypelma and my P. cancerides. And I might have got some from my Avics as well. But nothing, and I mean nothing, has been as bad as the two large LPs I have. All day I have itched. I took antihistamines, benadryl, and lotions. I have multiple red dots in various places over my sides, stomach/chest, arms, and legs.

Though this has been the worst case because those hairs making contact with my neck and entering my skin. It sucks, but I wouldn't give up my LPs!!!

Update

Mainly applying calahist lotion now, but I am no longer just spontaneously itching. If I scratch an area, I'll start itching, but no more randomness. Hot water also doesn't make me itch as bad anymore so I should be over it the next day or two.

I will definitely try all the remedies you guys mentioned if it happens again.

Why is amoxicillin suggested? Is there some off-label use for it in this regard? Benadryl and calamine lotion are more logical topical solutions, I hadn't heard of using tape but that does make sense to me. I get hivey just from changing substrate and cleaning decorations; glad to hear about the tape solution and the hot water wipe. Part of keeping new world tarantulas for me is keeping a large bottle of antihistamines available.
