Do you know, can allergies be developed by keeping ~all~ species of roaches, or is it limited to only certain kinds? That's what's preventing me from getting more varieties than I currently have.
same. the ruling council will not let me keep roaches due to allergies,

Minibeast wildlife only ships in Australia, and non-native exotic orthopterans are basically banned in the United States, but I cannot deny that Raspy crickets are underrated.

And how easy would that theoretical permit be to obtain?
Seems pretty easy actually, all they need is to produce records for captive breeding over multiple generations. So while it may take a little time, the application process is straightforward.

Check out their website and you'll get an idea. They have quite a few interesting ones

Do people really develop allergies or just find out they have them? Some people find they more allergic to some than others like dogs (different though since dogs are all the same species) but most people are not allergic.

It’s Confusing I’ve kept dubia over 10 years and not alergic but I got alergic to urticating setae in less years than that.

I used to hate land planaria but now I respect them as a pet on their own right.

Carnivorous snails.

Schizomids

There are a lot of underrated aquatic species. Leeches, giant water bugs, fishing spiders to name a few freshwater ones. There are a lot of cool marine crabs that can't really be kept in most reef tanks, like decorator crabs or staghorn crabs.
I am currently working with a partho species of Schizomid from FL, Stenochrus portoricensis. I haven't seen either of the adult females I started with in a while (though I did set them up in a comparatively large setup with a deep and chunky substrate), I DID see an immature against the side of their enclosure the other day though, which has me quite stoked. Definitely an underrated group of arachinds that I really wish I could acquire more species of.

Speaking of underrated arachnids, I think harvestmen and pseudoscorpions are also criminally underrated arachnid groups, both of which I've been working on collecting and breeding multiple species of (with good success thus far).

@catboyeuthanasia Southwest Canada or Southeast? I have been looking to keep schizomids for some time now and I'd be more than happy to buy a few off of you, if you are interested.

Opiliones are definitely underrated. They eat everything (prekilled feeders, fruit, vegetables, and moss) and are really pretty when you get to look at them closely.
