Nice pics !

Hmm..I must say though, they look alot more light metallic blue than my Avicularia. And the abdomen..is it any red?
I'm thinking about just giving up about this whole A. avic-metallica thing. Some say metallicas are like avics, except that they have that lighter, more bluish metallic colour, under a certain light. Some say they don't have any red on their abdomen. Some say they don't need any special light at all to show that blusih metallic color, and that they may have reddish rumps. :?

Hi Joy,
I haven't bred A. avic. before. It was a very noteworthy breeding for me. I've bred Avic. versicolor before and successfully raised babies from that sac, but I didn't see the actual coupling. With this pair, they courted normally. Though, when the male positioned the female, they stayed in that locked position for around 4-5 minutes. Totally different than what I am used to with the old world species I've bred, and their "hit and run" breeding tactics.
