Anyone mind helping make a list of tarantulas that occur in rainforest environs? This would be helpful to someone who wants something for a moist naturalistic vivarium.

I'm thinking Pamphobetus, Xenesthis, Megaphobema, and Theraphosa as terrestrials. Possibly Brachypelma albopilosum? The majority of arboreals seem to come from rainforests but can't be sure on that.

All of the Avicularia? Also, my Brachy albopilosum HATES it when it's wet. Even if the substrate is just slightly damp then she's either at the bottom of her burrow where she can stand on the glass, or on the walls.

Avics on top and divider and Haps on bottom? Would be beautiful. What's a vivarium? Have you got photos?

As far as land lovers go, those are the cream of the crop IMO

Brian: LOL...in the hobby. I am thinking more of terrestrials as most arboreals coem from rainforest type environments. Btw tarantulas coming from areas such as the drier coastal forests of Brasil ain't what I'm talking about. I'm talking about like the Amazon Basin and Panama type rainforest.

Like I said, if you are wanting to do a good looking set up for a terrestrial that will be a good display sp, then you cant go wrong with the genera you already mentioned. Pamphos are especially good display spiders, in fact I would consider them about the best, of course thats only my personal opinion ;)
