I know this is a little late but hey, better late than never right?. In illinois we have several species of trap door spider as well as a few purse web spiders as well. here is a quote from fred Coyle:
"Yes. I've collected Antrodiaetus and Atypoides in southern Illinois. I'm sure one or two of the Sphodros species are there. Maybe Myrmekiaphila and Ummidia also."
Antrodiaetus are folding trapdoor spiders ( not the typical hinged door type). Supposedly, these are the only really common (easiest to find) ones in illinois.
