Trapdoor Problem

About a month ago I got a red African trapdoor spider from "Jansen Exotics". When it arrived it was healthy and aggressive, and was given about 7 or 8 inches of eco-earth to burrow in. It made a burrow and trapdoor, but there is somthing odd about it`s behavior. It will refuse to eat any prey item that I put into the container and is always holding its door shut.:wall: Could it be getting ready to molt?

If anybody knows why it is acting this way please let me know.

most likely it's going to molt,is the substrate moist? i have traps too(different ssp.) and when they stop eating that's sometimes the case, other times they fast for awhile, but make sure the substrate is moist, they can dry out quickly.hope this helps.

Also, they don't need to eat very often. I feed mine about once a week, but that's probably way more often than they need.
