So a friend asked me if there are any species of tarantula that could be transperant partly or fully.. I'm not so bold as in to claim i know even half the species that exist so I told him I'd ask more experienced people, but also that I doubt it.
His favorite frog is the glass frog, so this would be his dream T if he started keeping Ts.
I did attempt to google, found nada, but ive also discovered this forum answers more than google can

No, there are no tarantula species that are either partially, or fully, transparent.

There are none known to science or otherwise, although it is a fairly interesting concept if there was that possibility. Would look rather wild!

There are some primitive spiders that appear transparent though they really aren't. Otherwise the only arachnids I can think of that are transparent are a small number of true spiders and some scorpions; certainly no tarantulas, at least not that we know of.

Thanks,

If there is a transparent tarantula, it would be undescribed in a cave somewhere.

Typhlochactidae is a family of cave scorpions from Mexico, and some of which are blind and "transparent" looking.

I've always found troglodytes to be interesting.

There are several troglodytic tarantulas known to science occurring in Mexico ( genus Hemirrhagus) and Brazil (genus Tmesiphantes), but none of them have a translucent exoskeleton. They do have other adaptions, or reversals, from life in caves such as extremely long skinny legs and reduced or absent eyes.

Pretty sure my H Mac is TCF or "transparent color form". Haven't seen it in forever.

Imagine if a transparent tarantula was found in the most random of environments, such as living on the rocks of tide pools or the extreme peaks of mountains.

That would be something...

idk but it would be sick if there was an arachnid equivalent to Kryptopterus vitreolus - perhaps some cave-dwelling species will be discovered like this; would be a really interesting adaptation
