In todays world with the war, a major increase in deficit spending, and gas prices, wont the T and other animal hobbyist take a big hit? Big animal dealers that have tons of animals that need licenses need to pay the yearly fees of having them as well as the food and what not. Will T's increase in price at all because of the money needd for gas and all or will the T's drop in price or stay the same? Here in FL its at $4 buck a gallon and I know its a lot more in other places and ti s starting to take effect. I am having to do extra work to keep up with all the tarantulas and all. Not complaining about working but more or less how expensive it's getting? What do you all think?

Well I personally don't think Ts will get anymore expensive considering they reproduce in the hundreds, and well they just won't sell if they're priced too high since money will be an issue. Since I've been in the hobby prices have fell drastically while gas prices soared. There will probably be less demand since this is just a hobby for most of us, which means LOWER prices. Tarantulas to begin with aren't expensive at all to care for; the main expense is the spider and that's basically it. I'm willing to stick my neck out there and say that it will have little effect really.

The amounts of successful breeding this hobby has will withstand even the highest of gas prices. I mean come on B.vagans are selling for $.50 cents from some dealers. It's only a matter of time before others reach record lows as well, that is the thing that scares me, not higher gas prices.

Not so mutch

I agree that gas prices won't change the price of the T's. On the other hand we may feel a pinch is shipping costs, that has already started. As far as gas goes their just greedy $$&%* (billions in profits per quarter) trying to get what they can before solar and electric cars are more affordable.

yeah not to mention we keep buying from the arabs instead of drilling OUR oil. I mean for crying out loud we have a reserve of light sweet crude that is larger than all the oil in the entire middle east right here in the continental USA

Of course, there is oil in the USA. You just can't dig/drill it up because somebody will just have to complain.

IMO right now is a perfect time to tap into the reserves. Our economy is collapsing but nobody seems to want to do anything about it! They just sit and complain. Here I am, sitting and complaining, but I don't have the power to tap into the reserves. {D

yeah the ironic thing is , every other country is drilling off our shore because we wont , wheres that logic. If you think the Chinese or Arabia is gonna care about our environment, I have a 14inch bright green and shiny pink crawshayi for ya for only 500.00 soon as she molts

I agree that the price rise will probably be in shipping costs, might make USPS a more appealing alternative to UPS ect.
