Actually, I truly can't remember noticing you saying that.

'Tis excellent, though!

@Bean: She hasn't moulted yet, but I do expect it to be corrected. Not worried at all in other words. Details about the slightly unsuccessful moult here.

The boehmei in question was not only bald, the abdomen has a deep scar (you can sort of make it out on the first picture below), looks like a wound. Yours has come through without such it seems.

There were also three deformed legs. One for real, and two only minorly impaired.

Scar partially visible from this angle:

And the screwed up leg:

Hi, this is my B. vagans 1.5". I bought her (assuming and hoping its a her) 2 weeks ago. Top pic is of her then, botton is her now. She's lost all of her pink/red colouration along with being much darker. I'm assuming it's at the pre moult stage but is the loss of colour normal? This is my 2nd T, bought my first (G. rosea) about a month ago now. Tempted by so many others (G. pulchra, G. aureostriata, T. blondi, A. versicolor) but I know I shouldnt! Enjoying the boards so far, been a great help!

I'd say a molt will come almost anytime, probably in 2-4 days or so. I got my first T, a chaco golden knee in August and about 3 weeks later I noticed its butt getting darker, or so I thought and sure enough a few days later it molted. Its odd to see the changes happen to your own Ts, you see them 1 way and suddenly the next few times you look in on them they look so different.

And as far as getting more, DO IT! 5-6 isn't harder to take care than 2 or 3, and 8-10 isn't much more difficult than 5-6! HAHA, see how it works? I'm up to 9 now. Good luck and enjoy.

The dark coloration is very normal. Expect "her" to have a slightly blueish hue when she's still in the first few days past her molt. Nice Vagans btw, they grow fast, and very attractive littel T's.

Just an update, my little B. vagans finally moulted after what seemed like an age. Some picz..

Edit: Is she getting too large for the deli cup now? I'm not sure how big she should be before she gets her own enclosure.

Yes, from that last pic I would say it may be time for a small critter keeper.

If it can eat full sized crickets I'd move it into an adult enclosure. But my adult enclosures are shoebox sized rubbermaid containers. Is it over 3"?

It is little over 1.5" approaching 2". I have moved it into a tupperware container which is 6" x 4", that should be fine for now right?

I'd give it more space. Does it have a place to hide in its new enclosure?

Hehe, these guys grow really fast!

Make sure you give it plenty of substrate in it's new home as they love to dig :)

No hide in the new enclosure but I am going to give her one as soon as I finish this post!

Wow that was a great vid! I'm just waiting for the weekend so I have time to get a critter keeper. She should have all the room she needs then. Can her enclosure still be too large for her or is any size ok now?

I don't think a cage can be too big for a spider. Too small is more of a problem. I keep my fully grown T's in a 10 gallon and that seems to be enough room. Most of them just chill out inside their hide anyway. I would get a critter keeper that would be able to suit her until she's really old so that you won't have to keep moving her around to larger cages.

Yup, some are way too big... Spiders by nature wait for food to saunter close to them... they are not hunters.
As such, especially when small, or species like avics who are known to have "appetite" issues, you must be careful not to house them too spaciously.
