No, it is part of the Tliltocatl genus. They completely moved a couple of species in Brachypelma to Tliltocatl genus because there were differences. Have curly hair too, btw, but a nicaraguan.:)

Not a species a genus.

The first scientific name is the genus - Tliltocatl the second scientific name is the species - albopilosus

The first letter in the genus name is always capitalized. The first letter in the species name is always lowercase.

The species was once classified in Brachypelma but has been reclassified to the genus Tliltocatl so it is now in that genus.

The the first letter in the genus name is always capitalized. The first letter in the species name is always lowercase.
And then the Genus and species are always italicized as in Tliltocatl albopilosus

Its a little extra work, but beeing meticulous in this area is a great help in remembering the binomial-names that anyone in the whole world will understand, rather than just the english speaking demographic

There is a button to italicize here inbetween the bold and underline function. I am also able to do it by highlighting and italicizing directly on my iPhone AA8E5589-48BB-4FAC-BDE5-5426A9EB9DCB.jpeg 76DC64D4-5955-474A-8C5A-1130E9B04EBF.png

oh and i cant believe we haven't mentioned it so far, but if you want to check the status of any species you should check out the World Spider Catalog (https://wsc.nmbe.ch/).
Make a free account and you can read all the papers there are about all the different species.
