simular but not the same, and as i said, unless you can come up with a reason both spiders died five hours later then i will not believe or say there poisonous. But since two adult spiders died from feeding on one of these animals, i will say there not good for T's to eat.

Cheers

Not to get off-track but that is a gorgeous animal! Sorry for being a noob, but are skinks reptilian or amphibious? (Hrm, I might be confusing them with salamanders... )
Reptiles. They have very fine and close fitting scales made for burrowing that make them very shiny and appear wet sometimes. But they are dry to the touch.

I can't even begin to speculate on what killed your spiders.

Just to get back on track, I think I will be getting some of these tiger rumped beauties. I'm a big fan of my C. elegans so I think I will quickly fall in love with these too.

I have two fasciatum slings one is .5", the other is 3/8". They are sac mates. The larger sit up top, with a fair amount of webbing tubes for a burrow. It tends to hunker down in a hollow when I open the vial. Good eater, gets the meal within (literally) seconds after it hits the strate.

The smaller has burrowed all the way to the bottom of it's vial, with the burrow running almost all the way around the bottom curve. It molted Xmas Eve day so I haven't had a chance to see it eat yet. (I feed on Thursdays.)

This may not help much as far as adult behavior, but I think it is interesting how different sac mates can be at this young age.

if your Ts died from eating Skinks thye might have bin sick or some thing

and A. francki is not a true spider it's a Mygalomorph(spelling), it's the order of arachnids that trap doors, tarantulas and funnle webs belong to

it could be pesticides, if it is wild caught...I would never feed my T a wild caught lizard or insect...if you want to feed your T a lizard get a anole from a pet shop. Skinks by nature have very powerful jaws and could easily injure a T...if not kill it.

I have a 4" female C. fasciatum and getting 50 slings(should be here tomorrow). Once I got my female I knew I wanted more of this species it is a really cool one to have. Mine is not agressive, more scared than anything, once it got used to it's home/surroundings it mellowed out and comes out often. They web a bunch.

Holy Crap!!! Do you breed them? Not the slings I mean because slings are obviously incabable of breeding but i mean Ts in general, do you breed them? This is what I am considering as an occupation when i am out of high school.

I don't breed them/ haven't yet. I plan on trying and seeing what happens. I just saw 50 slings for a great deal and snatched them up. I have a full time job as an insurance adjuster so this is just a hobby. Wouldn't it be awesome to open up a huge T store, not a pet store, a T only store with all available T's in the hobby. I'm sure hobbyist would travel from all around to visit. Online dealers are cool but an actual store to walk in and see them all in person would rock. Maybe when I get ready to retire I could do that.

I am soooo there. Oklahoma isn't that far from NE.

That would be a great place to visit, should one ever open up.

never mind thats the chilean tiger rump thats actually a true spider
Actually Acanthogonatus francki is in the family nemesiidae, which is a mygalomorph as is the family theraphosidae, and is not an araneomorph (true spider).
