Just picked up a new T today, and it's a Thrixopelma cyaneolum!!! Female, she is around 11cm now and hasn't molted for quite a while, so her colors are not as vibrant as could be but still, what a stunning spider :D plus she's been super sweet during the housing
Definitely a MUST HAVE! Feeling really lucky now.

Will post some pics later on ;)

Here are the first pictures taken with my phone (which definitely don't do her justice), after I take better pics with another camera I will post them in the Gallery.

If you are into terrestrial, and not looking for a huge T, nothing can beat her! (Well of course I am not objective...) :) (and I know they are not as available as common Brachys and Grammos.

Awww beautiful girl!! Yours is a little older than mine, I think. Her last "premolt look" was so odd I questioned if she actually was a T.Cyaneolum lol I'm attaching her when in premolt then after her molt.

Beautiful T! Do you overflow the water dish up to the point of having damp sub on one corner, or do you keep it mostly dry?

I keep mine mostly dry, I overflow the water dish once in a while and let it completely dry out before the next overflow.

This is my T. cyaneolum right after she had moulted in June.

She's roughly 3" now.
Such a pretty T! I didn' have the butt waving yet, she's been rather calm so far when I had to work around her. She also hasn't eaten the mealworm I gave her, probably pre-molt on the way, will follow-up :)

I keep it mostly dry and overflow the water dish here and there. I noticed when mine was in premolt she really liked sitting on the damp substrate.

Mine was super calm during premolt (when i got her she was in premolt) and then after her molt....she is fast as hell and skiddish haha..she's only about 2" though so I'm hoping she calms down with age lol we will see!

I moisten about 1/3 of the substrate for mine when it dries out, and she seems drawn to the moist areas, but it might be that she doesn’t care either way. She moves around regularly so it’s hard to tell. :)
She is picky and will only crickets, and nothing too big. Such a princess. :D

Here she is with a superworm friend.

Hope mine can accept mealworms, but so far does not seem to be hungry...

She has been a bit more skittish since she has started to settle in, nothing big, but one point to note: she is one of those Ts having issue with the water dish, she has completely filled it up with substrate as somehow she doesn't like it filled up with water... :angelic: love her!

Mine doesn’t eat a whole lot, usually about once a month. Yours looks nicely plump from what I can see. :)
That’s funny, my girl is one of my only Ts who doesn’t treat the water dish like a garbage/yard debris bin. :p

Today was the first time she both ate and drunk (as far as I saw). She finally settled in her hide but still spend most of her time out near the hide. She seems to prefer the dry part of the substrate so far. Again, a very cute little T to observe!
