Wondering if these are the same thing as this: http://www.birdspiders.com/gallery/p.php?id=895? BTW I believe the country is spelled Colombia.
Yes that is the one. And Columbia is spelled different ways in various languages and countries. In Eastern Europe it is Kolumbie. It just depends on where you are from. For this species I've only seen it spelled in the Columbia and Kolumbie variants, never in the Colombia format. The country is named after Christopher Columbus after all.

It's almost like the huge variant in what the country Germany is called, whether you refer to it as Germania, Germany, or Deutschland. Various titles and spellings for one country that depends on the language and region.

The country's official name is the Republic of Colombia. Plus, you aren't from eastern Europe, are you? English-speaking nations refer to the country as Colombia, so Colombia it is.

Nice spiders.

They are different than the Holothele incei "gold". The gold variant is the same species as the incei. I have both variants of H.incei. They are quite interesting and rewarding.

ah I stand corrected, I've just seen adverts for Holothele sp. gold and not knowing much about them, thought it might be another undescribed species similar to the ever expanding avicularia sp. 'myfrontporch' variants being described :D

I didn't realise it was just different coloured incei's. The sp. colombia look awesome btw!

If what you can read in this thread on the T-store...

http://www.the-t-store.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=13303

...is true, then it's H. incei, nothing else. "The parents of these spiders where both normally coloured Holothele incei, mated from Martin Kanzler." I guess it's yet another dealers' ploy to sell them as Holothele sp. "Gold" implying it's not just a color variant of H. incei. :wall:
