I thought I would get a quick snap shot of my alcohol preserved Theraphosa stirmi male tonight as I was doing maintenance on my wet collection. The diagonal legspan is 9.5 inches.

This is awesome. Is this about average size for a MM? I feel like Theraphosas probably don't reach 12" as often as people talk like they do. 9.5 DLS is still a monster though

The female I have in alcohol has an 8 inch legspan but has a larger carapace and thicker legs.

25cm+ Theraphosa stirmi adult female

Just wanted to share this amazing (deceased) MF Theraphosa stirmi here. DLS is clearly over 25cm. I know the measurement method is incorrect, but DLS is commonly measured as seen below so I can't really do anything about it, DLS measured correctly is even bigger.
