Theraphosa blondi eggsac

Hi long timekeeper of theraphosa blondi.
Pulled an eggsack early today at 27-28 days due to work commitments etc.
It's currently(from today)in incubation eggs are on cheesecloth suspended over water /no air holes /with s lid on temps are 23.c-26.c I'm after people's opinions as to whether some if these look to be fertile I have others to do in the future with fresh males

Looks good....Looks like they're about to molt to EWLs very soon....indicated by the rougher dryish looking areas on the eggs....I would remove those nasty dark ones though (don't toss them, just separate them just in case they're bad), you don't want them negatively effecting the healthy ones around them.

Thanks I appreciate that,I needed someone with experience who knows what to look for,I've asked others one or two reckon infertile but incubate and see, while two others reckon apart from bad ones ,the rest look OK,I'm incubating between 23-26.c approx so am still hopefully,I have others to try this year ,it's been fun so far!

FWIW, temps aren't all that important as long as they're at or close to 70f....things may take a little longer, but it's in no way detrimental to success....Looks like you're doing everything properly.

You may be able to backlight the eggs and see the developing spiders within.

Opened a nice healthy sac. Very close to EWLs...if you look closely, you can see the...

If you look closely here you can see legs.

This is what they look like just prior to molting....similar to what you're seeing, albeit more extreme.

Nice job- definitely remove the ones that are dark!

Unfortunately at day 4 it's looking likely to be infertile as is the problem with t blondi,I do however have 15-20 eggs that could still become ewl,it is what it is I'm afraid

in this instance,they didn't however,a new younger now has eggsac,she was walled behind dirt and Web for 30 days before deciding to burrow thru and extended her cave!she now carrys eggsac outside,then goes back in to back of burrow where heatmat is when it's cooler

My ex bred these, do not leave the sac too long , he did 40 days n when he opened the sac he had ewl but they were all stuck together with black tar where the other eggs went bad. He managed to save 19 of them but he kept saying he would of had more if he just pulled earlier at 25 days. It seems to happen alot too other ppl I know that have tried breeding them have had the same tar in the sacs, so be safe n pull early . Gl to you n big mommas got everything crossed for yous .

We were long distance, (I have issues n am not a "live" with someone else person, i like space,) so separate houses and luckily our collections were always separate too so I kept my 100+ he kept his 350. N thanks but no need to be sorry things happen n after 3 n a half years I think we knew we weren't compatible . I am a 39 year old hippy with no interest in what others do, he is a 58 year old business man that is obsessed with keeping up with the Jones's. I am surprised it lasted that long tbh .

Joined 21 but lurked for a few months before that , eventually joined to get info on T. vulgaris, I got one in my crix for my Eratigena n had no idea what little one was, never looked bk .

Will get to old timer one day, it's a goal .
