My Costa Rican zebra "Boo" was out of her hide tonight and I took the opportunity to snap a few pics.
If you've got pics of yours, post away! It would be great to see everyones zebras!
Enjoy!

I agree it is a very cool species that seems to be overlooked due to its being common and the low price tag. Still though fantastic looking when molted and a great pet species.

Did you say that male was mature Psycho? I sure would love to get one paired up with my big ol female. I have more than one but this one is the best of the bunch by far.

Here is my pokie/seemani. This picture is taken about 5 hrs after a molt so she is all stretched out relaxing. This is definately one of my favs as she comes out alot, eats whenever I throw food in and is docile but very fast moving. Lets just say she surprised me one time and ran across the floor and booted it up the clothes hamper before i could even say "oh sh!t". And trust me I have seen my P. Irminia move and this girl was almost as fast so it caught me iff guard. Anyways heres a pic of my Zebra.

LOL Vys well the thing about my A.Seemanni s/he has not shown any agression or defensive toward me. It is skittish but one time it let me pet it. I am hoping it will molt soon so I can know what I have, Stryper is 3" to3.5" so I doubt i will see a molt before next year.I bought it at this size btw :)

My A. seemani

I named mine Kicker. As you can problably guess she is a little hair kicker from hell.

She is the most aggresive spider I own. I have seen cobalts with better temperment.

If I gave her half a chance she would chew my arm off.

Not sure if he's mature yet. I really dont know how to tell. Personally I think it's unrealistic to watch for him to make a sperm web, because first off he doesn't web that much anyway, and secondly dont they distroy them right after they make them?:?

You'd know if your A. seemanni was mature: the males get these copper highlights that make them look almost like an Xenesthis or Pamphobeteus species.

There is also, as with *all* mature males, the matter of the modified pedipalps.

also, tibial spurs. A. seemani males get spurs, right? i haven't had one yet.
here's a link at phong's site

http://www.bighairyspiders.com/pix/rosea-spurs1small.jpg

pretty much the hooflike pedipalp transformation, and a general look of lanky legginess, like supermodel, along with the spurs, and you know you have a male. it's a startling change, so you won't miss it. they won't show any of the structural changes til they're mature (AFAIK? anyone have any different experiences?)
they get pretty dang antsy too, crawling around all over the place. at least mine have.
