I'm curious about the BARF diet. Is there a concern at all about pets contracting salmonella or e-coli from the raw meat?
As far as I know, its very rare. Probably as common as them getting it from dinner scraps. Im paranoid though, so my dog gets some natural antibiotics like garlic and apple cider vinegar. I freeze both of her meals for the day in one bag, usually the meal is a chicken neck. In every 2 out of about 5 bags I had half a tablespoon of ACV and smush it around to cover everything. The ACV has the added benefit of helping with her tear stains. She gets the garlic in with her veggies.

Every fall she comes back with deer parts from where hunters around here don't bury their gut piles (which is inconsiderate and gross). Nothing like stepping out the door in the garage and slipping on testicles or a big juicy liver.
I can see how :eek:
