They are indeed exquisite. In my opinion, L. mucs are some of the most beautiful scorps in the world and one of the most inoffensive buthids I've ever had.

yes they are very beautiful, I like the stripes on the back.
And they move very quick, like to eat.

I find this spp is most beautiful at the juvenile fase (I4-I5). Their colors seem to popp out more.

yup i agree with you canadian scorp. and their strips and spots very obvious during instar 4-5, most of my L.mucs are at that stage now, love it when ever they leave a moult upside down on a bark! haha

Hi,

I need to get me some of these,I missed out a couple of years ago when WC adults were being sold for $5 each. Very Sweet looking species.

Id say the young are very very small.

Actually, the young are quite large and robust for such a small species. The post-embryos range in length from 5.0-7.0 mm. Instar 2 specimens range in length from 10.0-12.0 mm.
It would be nice to see more Lychas species available in the hobby.

Arietans,

In your neck of the woods (RSA), the resident Lychas species is L. burdoi. They only attain sizes in slight excess of 40 mm but just as beautiful as L. mucronatus.
Been waiting for friends to send specimens of L. burdoi from Tanzi/Mozambique. Hopefully, they'll be here within the next few months and I'll post some photos.
