The macro capabilites on these cameras is amazing. With the right lens, and the right skills you can get almost any shot. The problem I'm having right now is getting the settings right for the different lighting situations I'm in.

I've gotten some very nice effects, but sometimes my photos could use a little work.

I've had my new camera about 5 days now.

its really about lighting, usually.

Have you thought about trying a light tent? I've seen cheap DIY tutorials that involve cardboard boxes and tissue paper. here's one. I find that these help a lot.

but!! there is bumble bee amongst the group...who will be the first to find it?;)
Was that a trick question? ;)
I did locate the bee (by looking at the body and head shapes) but a bumblebee? :p
Aren't bumblebees big round fuzzy ones, like some of those flies look like? :)

i especially like the last one..nice.
the bee mimics are truly cool, mostly because they predate on bees and wasps!

lol.
ok..this may have been too easy.
did you locate it by wing count?
Well I must say I'm a little surprised, I was dead tired (didn't even wait for the answer before I went to bed) but I thought I could still bust out my entomology skills. I noticed the wing count, but wasn't sure if that ment anything (I thought of checking my own collection, but that would be cheating.) What gave it away for me was the black spot, I've spent way to much time as a kid catching bees in my moms garden to miss that sign. You got any more tests? I enjoyed the first one. ~ Rex
