Thought I would let everyone know that Saturday, December 13th (this Saturday) National Geographic Channel is going to have a show called Tarantula! on at 7:30 PM Eastern time.

Also, Friday, December 19th The Discovery Channel is going to have a show on called "Tarantulas and their venemous relations" at 5:00 PM Eastern time.

I would check your T.V. guides or wherever you get your showing information in case it is different where you live. I'm in Indiana and we don't use daylight savings time so things can be all screwed up.

Its a nice show, I've seen it twice. They aired it last night 7:30 pm ET, Dec. 11, north NJ area - NatGeo Showcase.

I saw the Tarantula! show last night (UK tv) Once you get passed the unforgivable start. (housewives going "eeek a big nasty spider in ma washbowl someone find me a man to move it!! eeeeek!") it's ok. It's very simple and just brushes the surface of the subject.

It could have done with out the ominous music tho. I'd like to see a more in depth documentary some day but hey its a start.

I think that a show about T's is quite a novel thing given that its such a brand new subject ...no wait.. doh!

I've got TiVo so I just told it to record both programs and save them for me! I'm so spoiled by my TiVo!

Just saw the show, well it's 10:30 now so it was actually 2 and a half hours ago. I liked it, what did everyone else who saw it think? There were some really cool Ts on the show.

My wife and I just finished watching it and I thought it was great! It's good to finally see a show that doesn't exploit people's fear of spiders! I thought it was kind of tragic to see the Shadow-boxed tarantulas at the end, but the rest of it was good.

I didn't get to see it! I even left for work early today just to find out that my local company doesn't have the NG channel. I saw in the TV guide that NG was on at 730 so I thought that was the show but it turned out to be something on cocain dealers.
I have Discovery though, maybe I can catch the other show tomorrow night.
Anyone happen to record the NG show? Could you send a copy maybe? I'm more than happy to pay for shipping.

I agree, they did a good job. The shadow box thing definately sucked. Was weird, I watched it with my mother, who HATES spiders and she was pretty interested, maybe she will come around. I turned my girlfriend into a total T freak too, so she loved the show. I didn't expect Rick West to be on it, that was pretty cool. Haven't seen him on TV in a while.

diane....If someone in my family buys me a VCR for Christmas then I would be happy to tape it for you and ship it to you! I'll let you know. We are saving it indefinitely on our TiVo...

I thought it was going to be repeated later in the night and I was going to tape it then. But it didn't come back on.heh Could have sworn they said it would be on again later.

nope national geographic dosen't do that, they just play crappy documetarys all the time. discovery does it though.

I just got a message from our cable company today saying they don't carry the National Geographic channel , I would have to get Direct TV~ I don't think so! I'm gonna get digital instead. At least digital has 4 or 5 discovery channels.:}

I have DirecTv with TiVo and I don't have any complaints. I'm not worried about digital since none of my TV's are HD ready at all.

I don't have NG, and I went through the dad-blamed T.V. guide for the ENTIRE WEEKEND, and nothing on the Discovery Channel or AP about Ts. I HATE VERIZON WIRELESS!

I'm off the the National Geographic website to see if I can order it on VHS!
