I have a female B. Smithi "Fiona" and on several occations have seen her sitting up on the side of her tank and seen a droplet of clear liquid come out of her mouth.. Has anyone else seen this with any of their T's or know what it could be?? She is a total sweet heart, she doesnt flick hair or any of that stuff, so i dont think its any kind of deffensive reflex, but Im hoping its not something worse like mouth mites or something..And she is a very hardy eater and active so i dont think she is sick, but just thought this was weird... :?

I guess I didnt articulate my question very well, I have seen my T's clean them selves and that is not what this is, she is up on the side of her tank (on the glass) no limbs are moving or anything and on a few occations I have seen a droplet of clear liquid like drool but it shoots out of her mouth literaly like she just spit, I suppose it would have to have some "propulsion" to it, other wise gravity would dictate it to drip to the ground..I hope this is a little better explanation of what is happening...Anyone else seen this with their T's??? :?

hmmm....at first i was going to suggest that it was just venom dripping, but since you say that its like propulsion then i have no idea. i hope you find out what it means.

Never seen a T shoot liquid from it's mouth but I have seen many secrete liquid. Like Windchaser said, it's just cleaning it's mouthparts. Since Ts filter out solid matter when feeding I'm sure they have to flush the "filter" out every now and then. Nothing to worry about really.
