Hello guys, as you know i got my first t a gbb sling a few days ago, I am currently in the beach with friends so I will get home by tomorrow... little guy is in home, I live in Panama and the weather here is really hot so is usuall to have airconditioner in all the apartment, I am so dumb I never really thought about this!. So my mom just called me to ask if she could move Caracas (my gbb) to her room while I still here (she is in love with him now haha) which is airconditioned, and temperatures go to 16- to 15 ºC, I dont know if my little t could survive this.. I know gbbs are hardy and they can tolerate cold temeparatures in the night when they are in their natual habitat.

However, would you recommend me to move my T in the nights (when the airconditioner is on)to my garage where my car is? or can he survive this temperatures ?:pompous:

thank you!

I would say 15-16 degrees Celsius is too cold for extended periods of time. You should aim to keep the temperature above 18 at a minimum, and above 20 for your little friend to thrive.

Uh yes, that is far too cold for a tarantula. I wouldn't keep them any lower than 20C. They can be exposed to temps a bit lower but only for a couple hours tops. Tell your mom if she really loves the tarantula, she'll leave it somewhere warm.

Those temps are gine for that species. They are found at fairly high altitudes where the temps drop lower than you would think.

If is only for a short period of time there should be no problem.
