Tarantula Collective has one I believe, if it’s still running. Still not as informative as the search function on this site I’m afraid.

So...whats the difference between a Discord Server and a Facebook Group?.

Discord is a communication app that was initially focused around gamers so they can connect with each other, converse and share data / streams etc. It has since then exploded in popularity and expanded in scope to support various other interests.
It is not ad driven like AdFacebook, and already has a huge community base.

Discord's CEO breaks it down how they are exactly different from Facebook and the likes:

So,is the information, and content reliable, and better than some of the misinformation on Facebook?.
Would a newer keeper of T,s find it useful?.And giving good husbandry advise?.
Or is it just more YT/Facebook.

Nope. I would say it's not better. The original design is more like a waterfall stream of chat messages... broken up in different channels, but each channel is still a stream of just waterfall communication.
So anything meaningful gets lost once more messages pile in... and it's hard to keep track of a conversation due to it.

However, they have recently introduced threads - which is an awesome step forward. That makes it closer to Slack (and an upcoming contender to Slack).
Unfortunately, right now threads can only have a max duration of about 3 weeks - so it's close to being perfect, but not there yet.

So I say in due time, Discord will have all the right facets to enable meaningful topics/conversations/references once their threads feature becomes more mature (and who knows what else they might add).

(These are just my views)

I use discord more for casual chat or if i have any quick questions that its not worth opening a thread on here for. So i wouldnt call it a hub of information,It's just a place for people of certain common interest to hang out. I don't use facebook, therefore i don't know how does it compare to FB groups.

Ok,thanks...I have had a FB account, just never used it much.I did join a local T club,if that’s the correct term.
It’s nice to be able to communicate with T keepers in my local area. But, it’s loaded with questionable info, and advice,IMO.

I'd recommend Discord to you, if you're just looking for a place to socialize with others with similar interests to yours. It's not really designed for educational purposes.

It's bit more organized than facebook but nothing like here.
I'm a gamer so I use discord most of the time and joined them while at it, their Admin seems to be okay but rest of the people are similar to the facebook and reddit crowd.
Also the average user age seems to be very low.

I know of a few mantis one and one mixed one called Critter Corner, don’t think we are supposed to post links so I’ll PM it to you.
