Its just a leg, it cant bleed to death from that. Ts have a valve at the base of the leg that can close off in cases of injury.

Do nothing but keep water available.

It may remove the limb eventually.

I apllied a bit of corn starch after going through google... was that a bad idea?

Ive also read posts about tarantulas amputating its legs after a small injury, is there a chance for that to occur??

@boina could you let me know if its gonna lose a leg?

maybe it is, maybe it isn't. as cold blood said you don't really have to worry as long as water is available.
a leg will grow back with the next molt and will be the original size after another 2-3 molts and you wont be able to spot the difference between legs.

I knew tarantulas had that but I thought the limb actually had to be removed to put it into action.

You have received sound advice regarding the situation at hand. However, I would submit the most pressing matter is to determine how this occurred? This type of injury is not generally mortal, but a rupture on the carapace or opisthosoma is very often deadly.

Hey, now, sometimes 5 answers of the same thing makes more sense than 3! ;)

Dude, no one can tell you what a T will do. Just be patient, and not a helicopter parent. This is out of your control. All you can do is watch and observe. However @FrDoc advice is the best you have received for the future.
