tbf even some protozoa learn to reduce their defense response to non harmful stimuli, I'd find it quite surprising if tarantulas didn't do the same like most animals. I'm more of an ecologist than a behaviourist tho

Obviously this isn't much of a study but I doubt a study is even needed. Perhaps spiders are better off just hiding from any non prey stimuli tho seeing as they're ambush predators in which case maybs Im wrong. I think they still would need to be able to adapt to different soils and weather depending on where they end up so that they can focus on important stimuli tho and not be too scared to catch prey

found a paper that said they have avoidance learning so that's something, plus one on spatial learning.
Saying all that tho, it is quite likely that the amount you have to handle a tarantula for it to remember its harmless would probably actually be harmful
