I have used 10 gallons in the past but after about a decade of observation, I moved the Ts (Brachys) into a 2.5 gallon sized keeper. They just don't do enough to warrant the space and it's not like they were banging at the lids unhappy with the downgrade in size.

I'm not sure how much my Ts roam around the tank. I've seen my C. crawshayi's trash in the corner but she's very good at avoiding me. And I really hate to move certain species like my juvenile P. murinus, so I put it in the correct size cage for an adult. Personally, I don't think it matters much if the cage is larger than necessary except for cost and space considerations.
