tail laying flat

I was in florida for a couple days, and when i came back and checked on my scorp i noticed that he was out of his burrow. Then i noticed that his tail is laying almost flat and straight out. This is my first scorpion, but i know that when their tails are completely flat down it means they are dead...but is he maybe getting ready to molt?

What kind of scorpion is it? It most likely dying but I have had a few scorps do this for a few days and then start acting normal again. I'm sorry to say but it does seem to me like it doesnt have much time left.

when it is not reacting to external stimuli it's probably dead. Did you check with a pair of tweezers?
