I don't have an insane amount of experience and even knowledge. I own 5 tarantulas. 4 slings and 1 (sub)adult. It hasn't even been a year yet since I purchased my first T's. I have learned from my 'small' mistakes and read a ton on this forum. I never buy any animal without proper research and preparation. A seller now has T seladonias for sale for only 78 euros which is around 85-90$. I can't purchase now, since the seller doesn't sell nor ship during winter months. But once the website is opened, I was just wondering. Should I do it? Do you think it's worth it? Should I maybe wait a little longer?
If I should do it, is there anything specific I should think about or prepare for this species?
(I am aware they have a trapdoor lifestyle so things aside from this)
Thanks in advance :)

They are a small species who do require a bit more work done on their setup. They have to be given the proper items to build a trap door. And they are tiny spiderlings. Even with my experience, I am reluctant to purchase one. I have heard of too many people losing them. That is just my personal opinion.
I took the plunge and spent a huge amount of money on my Cyriocosmus giganteus female when she was just a tiny spiderling, and that worked out well for me, but I was worried the entire time she was so small.

Yeah according to the seller they are 0,5 cm which is super tiny. Only reason this doesn't necessarily scare me away is because I currently have h. chilensis slings. They are still super tiny as well. Aside from a different lifestyle (trapdoor vs terrestrial), sizewise they're quite similar. Though the seladonia would probably be even smaller. Losing it is definitely something I'd worry about but that's something I always worry about when I think about getting a sling, especially more expensive species.
The sudden price drop in this species is making it more enticing to get one.
Thanks for the advice though.

Everything I've heard about T seladonia indicates that are a bit more sensitive to their environment than your standard avic, which freaks me out a bit. I personally do not even want to try until I they come way down in price in the US. I would not want to make any husbandry missteps with a T that pricey and delicate.

Ultimately, it's a personal decision you'd have to make, so maybe you'd want to ask yourself some questions. What's your keeping experience like so far? Have you ever cared for a tiny dwarf sling before? What arboreals have you cared for?

Terrible species for the inexperienced. They are so new to the hobby that we are still trying to add to or knowledge about them and their specific care. IMO we should let the most experienced keepers hammer out these details long before we should be buying them as beginners,

You should wait. They will be here at some point, I can't wait.
