Hey all,

i've done a google and come up empty handed... are there any mites (from a newly aquired T, scorp, or feeder food) that could bite humans? I ask because i got some new arrives last week, some scorps, some T's and some feeders, and since last week i have been bitten by "something" a number of times and can't figure out what. Some of my new animals came in tubs with substrate which i changed after the first few bites, but i just got bitten again tonight on the elbow...

just curious if this ring any bells with anyone?

i say either urticating hairs floating around......scabies(probly not though) or something you have come in contact with...prolly the hairs from the substrate you changed tho

I am hypersensitive to t hair, but if it is T hairs, i have never had had a reaction like this before. Normally i get a blotchy rash, these do look like somewhat like mozzie bites. Can't be scabies, i'd have have "burrows" and my hands would be affected. I'll go with T hair for now and see if it settles down over the next week. How airbourne do T hairs get because all my spiders are on a book shelf three feet from my bed?

could it be bed bugs they are going around pretty bad this year. It could be T hair if one of my T's is really kicking up a cloud of hair and i walk into the room they affect me. Did you see any mites in any of your T's enclosures?

I have searched my room under flashlight in darkness for bed bugs and drawn a blank... in one of the new scorp enclosures there was tiny white oblong shaped "things" that i took like maybe springtails... don't know if i am right or wrong about that, but i changed their substrate anyway...

Could it possibly be fleas?
I've heard of people getting flea bites.

I don’t have any animals to harbour fleas and as far as i know i haven’t been exposed to any... flea bites are normally around the ankles and shin areas... had them before. Havent had any new "bites" and itch "seems" to be diminishing... just maybe it was T hair after all...
