Great T, and realy good pics, but what's the trick to keeping one?? I wouldn't mind having one but the sling I got only lasted about 2 weeks and I've seen SO many people post bad molt horror stories or tell of their T just curling up and dying for no clear reason with this species....

Keep the humidity HIGH and the ventilation HIGH. If the humidity is less than 90%, they will have a bad molt. If the ventilation is too low, mold can grow easily. It's a fine line.

Once they get up to around 5" or so, the problem isn't quite as bad.

Who said blondi's are just a big brown T.? Funny thing, I fed my sling alot and heard they're fast growers. I fed it a ton of food, but it only molted about once every two months. But...It nearly doubled in size each molt. Very very impressive.

I'm really starting to think about trying with this species again, but I think I'd likely get one that is already at least 6" if they are easier to keep alive once they get some size on 'em. I'm a lot closer to getting a King Baboon and/or a rusty red baboon next on my "most wanted monsters" list. Are these species hardier and less likely to have the same problems I've seen with so many T.blondi? Most of my experience has been with NW T's, so I'm pretty sketchy on a lot of the OW's. I've recently started getting some of the OW's though, and so far, so good.:D
