Hey guys, I've tried a new kind of plastic leaves in one of my enclosure and my T seems to enjoy chewing it. It is made of a kind on fabric or threaded plastic. Do you think it can be hazardous for my T? Seem harmless to me but I want to catch your opinions. Here is a pic of the leaf.

Who knows? Might be fine, could be toxic and die a slow death over time- making you post “why’d my T die”

by chewing do you mean just using its fangs, to break it up?

This is actually quite normal for me to see with some terrestrial species of T. which is why I don't always provide fake plants to them and usually just use them for arboreal species only. As long as the plants are non-toxic then it's not really a big deal. I have some T.'s that literally made their fake plants look like something from a paper shredder, so it could get annoying to some people. If it gets everywhere I just scoop up the surface of the sub to get as much teared up fake plant pieces out.

I have a video somewhere of one of my albo's chewing a fake leaf that I'd hotglued to the side of the enclosure. It really did mess the leaf up too. No idea why it took such a sudden dislike to it, as it never managed to move the leaf away and didn't try to chew it again.

I wasn't worried really, just wondering because the leaf is made of a fabric style material. Thanks for your advices, it is still in there!

It doesn't seem to be able to break it up since its a kind of fabric, but it is making holes and altering it with its fangs yes.
