I'm going to find a source, if I can, but I thought I remember hearing those named "Superworms" were genetically engineered worms that are not the same as general meal-worms.

They were modified, again genetically, to get larger as well most do not pupate into the final beetle form. Because of this, again I'll try to find a source, it was not recommended for invertebrate feeders but I cannot seem to recall the reason.

Must take a break from the PC here but I'll try to see if I can dig up what I read awhile back. Again, no source for now so completely hearsay but maybe someone else had heard/seen this data before?

I haven't seen the data but when I was feeding both of these species the T. molitor did pupate while the others did not. Both were bought at Pet-death/kill.

I've actually seen people selling "super" mealworms. These are mealworms which are larger than normal which is comparable to the size of a superworm. There are also "Micro" Mealworms which are the smaller than normal mealworms. Both have larger and smaller beetles than normal mealworms.
