Most stick insects are illegal in the USA so I would advise you to not trumpet your new pets. Althought they are cool.

actually...i hate to break it to you...but it can and HAS happened before (WITH stick insects even):

the USDA only fairly recently really started enforcing restrictions that were already on the books. A lot of people still don't seem to realize that this IS happening or just have a blase' (that's an accent, not an apostrophe ) attitude about it and that isn't going to help keep these things available.
