I have an H Arizonensis, I did a mixture of 25/75 excavator clay to sand after reading one board, and it wouldn’t hold when I tried to do burrows with it after it dried. Now I have 50/50 after seeing someone suggest that ratio and I think it’s too hard for my scorpion to burrow in. I just hear him scraping the top with his claws and it’s been a few days since he got in there. What can I do?? Break up the substrate and add sand?

You can use additional mixes such as creatures soil, but remember that the peats and sphagnum particles will hold more moisture (a good thing for some species, a mold issue for others).
