It looks kind of like old yellow paper. It is coming out of the two book lungs closest to her spinnerets. If these were to clog up her lungs would she be able to survive off of the other two or would she just die. This really has me freaked out and I would hate to loose her especially if I didn't know what happened.

Yes, we need far more details and images to have ANY clue. Species, age, last molt, care and culture, substrate, diet... anything at all.

I'll get picks later but she is a sericopelma rubronitens female. Her last molt was a couple weeks ago. She has eaten very little in the last 6 months that I have had her. I dont know how old. I keep her moist but not soaking.

Is the stuff and moving mass? Take a sample and swirl it in a clear glass of alcohol.

Has it been there since the molt?
Just noticed it yesterday.

I think it's the book lungs from her previouse exoskeleton

I removed all of what I could and it came out pretty easily. I really hope there is none left.

Based on your description they likely are the book lungs from the previous molt, I have had this happen before with no negative affects and the tarantulas (yes more than one) in question molted fine the next molt.

Added by edit:

Here is a picture of one of my T's with book lungs from the previous molt hung in the current book lungs:

This is a pokie, who ate and molted fine, but has had this happen on more than on occasion.

From the detail provided in the pics I would say the book lung(s) did not molt out properly and the old exo from the previous molt is stuck in there.

Any chance you can get closer, clearer shots?

Nice that is what I get for not reading the 'meaningless' post between the OP and the pic. LOL, well if your pic was really the OP's then I revert to my previous post.

On a similar note, I lost a T due to a bad molt where the book lungs got stuck, but, irc, it was all four lungs.

Cheers,
