From what I can tell that is what it is called, but may be known by other more common names. Typically for doubts on species I just google the scientific name, because that is typically accurate, also could be a new species maybe.
As for care sorry I cannot help you there.

The UK market seems to be getting a lot of new imports from S.Africa just at the moment, including lots of species which simply have not been described in detail by science. Retailers (especially the one you mention in fact) can also be a bit lazy (or a bit creative ?) in how they describe the livestock.
The millipede in question seems to be a Centrobolus species from around the Pretoria area in S.Africa. It could be a completely seperate species from other geographically close species, like C.fulgidus or C.annulatus, or it could be just a slightly different colour morph of one of them. Without detailed scientific study I suspect we may never know which. My suspicion is that it is a new undescribed species (certainly new and undescribed in the hobby) as the pics on the website show a darker red background with lighter dots on it. Other Centrobolus species seem to have darker spots/markings on the red background.
Millipede taxonomy is a complete nightmare at the moment, and I will add that I am certainly no expert - I'm not even particularly learned in the area..
