Hello!
My regal jumper (Lovingly named Valentine) is over a year old now, I’d guess pretty close to 1.5 years. Lately I’ve been checking on her and seeing her in a strange position (photo included, sorry it’s bad). Is this normal? She seems so much more “relaxed” than I’ve ever seen her. Her legs are extended and her abdomen is hanging a lot lower than usual. When I move the closure or open the door she immediately pulls up into a more normal position. I’m not too concerned about it as she seems fine otherwise, just wondering if yall have seen this with older jumpers/ have seen this at all?
Thanks folks!

Commenting in hopes that someone answers the question for you. I’ve had a few of my adult jumpers also do this and was always curious why. I just assumed that they’re weird and do weird things sometimes:rofl: is she still eating and roaming around normal?

Was it full grown? Or could it be a molt. Strange position :spider:

Yeah she’s still acting completely normal- I tend to see her do this more at the end of the day or when I haven’t interacted with her for a while, I wonder if it’s a “sleeping” sort of thing, where she feels safe and relaxed? She’s a silly girl!

If she’s acting normal I wouldn’t worry about it. Could just be a relaxed position for her!

Unfortunate update- Valentine passed away last night. Peacefully and of old age, don’t worry!
I’m pretty sure the position was a relaxed state and her getting weaker and older. I’m glad she felt safe enough in her terrarium to relax as she saw fit. Spiders are so interesting, learning something new every day!
