I don't doubt he placed animals in the area so he could stumble upon them, but I can understand that. When you're filming, you have a budget and a deadline. You can't afford to spend days, weeks trying to find an animal that doesn't want to be found. He still showed the animal in it's natural environment and educated us all about the animal and it's life and behavior. And that made us want to save that animal and it's environment, and think more about conservation.

I saw all his shows since he first became popular. Heard his Dad taught him most of the skills since he was a toddler, hence why Steve's daughter and son were exposed to the animals since infants so they would not fear the animals, when you live at a zoo you need to be comfortable around animals and know about them. I'm pretty sure his kids will own the zoo when they are old enough and help their Mom, but I am pretty sure they are set already between acting and Bindi did some modeling already. They are smart kids!

Unfortunate event

I think the fact that this thread exists is a testament to Steve's accomplishments. No matter where you go you will always run into people that agree/disagree over just about anything. My view is he did something that he loved and like it or hate it there was nothing unlawful about what he did. He was fortunate to die doing something he loved versus an unexpected end by the hand of a drunk driver or by any other of the thousands of ways we can go.

I agree. I bet he'd prefer being killed by one of the animals he loved, rather than being killed in an accident or from an illness or even old age. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Along these lines. I've heard some nasty rumors that Steve's Australia Zoo was embroiled in some kind of power grab and there was a dispute going on in the upper echolon about control of the place. Rather than spread rumors, does anyone have any cold hard facts from the horses mouths about this?
To explain. The UNVERIFIED RUMOR I heard was the parties that own the land the zoo is or was on wanted a more lucarative venture. Be all that as it may, it appears that Wes, Steve's 'best mate', is firmly running the show right now and it is highly unlikely he would let anything stray from what Steve would have wanted.

I didn't like him a whole lot.

Mainly because of 'LOOK AT HOW ANGRY THIS SNAKE IS' /holds it by the tail.
