Hey all! My beautiful baby female stag beetle is in its final transition from pupa to adult! She's being kind of weird (weird as in I've never seen a beetle molt before so cant tell if this normal). Shes on here back and I'm worried about her wings. Also how long does this usually take. Lastly, I head they hibernate as adults, so that means no food and she wont move correct? Or was I misinformed. Very sorry for this erratically typed post... I've had a horrible day with trying to receive millipedes from USPS and my stag beetle doing this has caught me very off guard.

Stag beetles once emerged from their pupal chambers will remain motionless and in a slow state for at least a week. Once they are active they will start eating soft fruits and tree sap in the wild.

Leave her be and let her harden up. They won't usually eat until weeks/months after emerging.
