Lucille (0.1 N. coloratovillosus). She's easily the most defensive, and even outright aggressive tarantula I've ever encountered. She's been this way since she was a tiny sling. IMG_20240922_190957135~2.jpg

I past on a freshly molted female a couple months ago. Needless to say I regret passing on her. I even saw the guy 2 weeks later,,asked about her, but she was gone... long gone.. After all I have always wanted one.

Totally beautiful they are. Heavily under appreciated. Next time I won't hesitate to pick one up if I can.

Mari (0.1 A. chalcodes) molted and her coloration changed significantly. Darker in color with some markings on her carapace. Beautiful spider, and such a sweetheart. IMG_20241005_205813872~2.jpg

Theraphosinae sp. Rio Shanao. Very little is known about these guys. I've only seen one picture of the species online. This sling loves to dig and is very food motivated. It seems to prefer moist substrate. I looked at the remains of its shredded molt under the microscope and noticed that it had distinctive looking urticating hairs. I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks as it grows. No idea yet if it's male or female since it loves to rip up its molts. IMG_20241116_191644221_HDR.jpg

Beatrix, 0.1 Pamphobeteus sp. mascara. Very defensive and food motivated. I don't think I've ever seen her refuse a meal. IMG_20241228_210556173~2.jpg IMG_20241228_210550658~2.jpg

Binx, subadult female B. hamorii. Surprisingly, she's been one of my fastest growing and most food motivated tarantulas. IMG_20250104_192434941~2.jpg
