Technically this would be considered educational. I never heard about this before. Now I know. Its value might not be as high as say "a possible cure for DKS" or something that could help like that, but none the less its informative of something involving arachnids.

What part of it was educational? Knowing that people put spiders together to fight?

All I got from it was people claiming to be able to 'train' spiders to fight each other...which, to me, is misinformation.

I didn't actually go to the article though so I may have missed something.

Knowing that in some cultures around the world, people do this for gambling and entertainment. Yes thats educational. Like I said the value might not be as high as some other topics.

The definition of educational is providing knowledge. The definition of knowledge is, the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.

The subject being "spider fighting".

Id much rather we not argue about this. If you stop and think for a minute Im sure you will realize that this is really not a big deal at all.

Who said I was arguing? Who said the debate isn't educational to people reading it?

I suppose without the use of emoticons, sometimes its hard to tell what the emotion is a person is using in text.
It's all good.

Even when I use them, people think I'm rude. Glad we could discuss this without it turning stupid. :)

none of them faught eachothe just tried to climb out... then i would pet them and make them bite me to see if i would bleed.

then i would dump them outside on the grass and watch them all crawl away...

Spiders that have been kept for the purpose of fighting have difficulty being rehabilitated back into the wild due to the emotional damage that has been caused to them....... wow people really are retarded...

Anyway besides the retards editing wikipedia, I see no problem with spider fighting. Its similar to bullfighting and cock fighting so not really a big deal. But the problem is that they are misinformed and think spiders are geniuses of the animal world and they can make rational choices. How can you train a spider? Yeah you can get it somewhat use to your presence but thats about it...

K i guess i need to inform you all....

That the So called Spider Training is just for strictly fighting purpose.....

What they do is basically, they would starve the spider to the point it would attack any prey it's size or bigger, as long as they think it is... They just put the spider on a water diet for a week or two...
so the next time it goes up on that stick and see's another spider/prey.. it would be ready to kill for it's meal......

This ppl are just using plain common sense......

Not one of those spider can be trained to sit and stay... then roll over....

Most just misinterpreted the given information...

Just M.O.

Lol I was once a pokemon kid
its really just a stupid game.
stupidly addictive, if thats what you mean! incredibly inane, but in that way that i occasionally like to indulge in, personally anyway. i don't need to diss pokemon to look cool, since i'm patently uncool as it is. :D

the spider fighting, however... ridiculous. dogs, roosters, fish, people love to watch all sorts of creatures (including themselves) destroy other things, its in our nature i suppose?

not saying its right, just that i'm not at all surprised.
