Hello.

Okay well I am not breeding spiders now, but would like too soon but have a few concerns about them and space and safety. Well I was planning on keeping the spiders that I'm going to mate, in a jar (small spiders) and then when I mate them in a more tank-like area, but when they are done mating do I take both out? or just the male?

Now for space and safety and money wise, what about when the babies hatch, do I leave them in their and pull the mother, or do I leave the mother? Then when they get older will I need like 150 Jars? or can I keep them in this tank-like set up. What do people usually do with them? Do they put them in separate enclosures? even if they are little? What do I do? and should I incubate them?

I'm mostly talking about Jumping spiders not tarantulas but need some help, and even if your reply is about a tarantula please leave it, it may really help.

Thank you.

this is the wrong section for this their is a true spider section for this, but usually what you do is you introduce the male into the female enclosure and then when they appear to be done take the male out, but you have to be careful sometimes the male doesn't make it out alive. as far as the babies you can leave them with the mother for a while, but most do whats called pulling the sac to ensure the female doesn't eat the sac and then usually separate the slings after their first molt or two to avoid cannibalism. breeding is a aspect you need to have space for to ensure rooms for the babies.
