That's one of the ones I'm really interested in so far, but nobody on any of three message boards I'm asking this on will tell me just how many crickets one might eat in a week. :wall: Care sheets don't talk about anything but mice and rats, though I'm told that's unhealthy for them anyway.

My uncles would eat anything anytime. But pretty much all the caresheets I read said to feed every 2-3 days of a variety of crickets, other feeder insects, mice, rats.

Every 2-3 days, huh? And I guess enough crickets to match the size of a rat is a lot of crickets. Hm. :)

get a bearded dragon. they eat the crap out of crickets.
We have established multiple times in this thread, including in the very first post, that I do not have the space for bearded dragons.

Suggestions.

Thin the cricket herd every two or three weeks by throwing them out the back door or flushing?

Throw out every other breeding dish before they can hatch.

Keep temprature a little lower to slow breeding rate.

Find someone in your area that has a need for feeders, oh, and a car.

Just some thoughts.

I found recently that hamsters eat crickets lol. I am not sure how many they can eat though.

what about a rankins dragon? they only need a 20 gallon long tank. They do eat some veggies but not like a bearded dragon does.

I had a pac man before, he would eat 6-8 crickets every other day. Some times though, he would bury himself for a few weeks at a time and not eat.

My leo's ate everyday as babies, around 12-15 small crickets. As adults they only 4-6 crickets every 3-4 days. If you have a 20 gallon long, you can keep 2 leos together, as long as they aren't both males.

I like Tokay's and i hear if you get CB babies and handle them ALOT they will stay relatively tame.or you could just get more T's:)

Oh, and if you do decide on the pac man, please don't feed it mice, that will cause health issues and early death.

If there is a noise issue with birds, what about the noise of hundreds of chirping crickets?

Or you could learn candy making and have a side buisness of selling chocolate covered crickets (i've seen a box of 6 go for $10) and lollipops with crickets embbedded in them and other insect confections.

maybe try establishing a colony of bugs first? like someone else said, they're easy enough to chuck outside if you've too many. my young leopard geckos eat up to 8 half-grown crickets in a day right now. but leopard geckos require time and attention, and can live up to 20 years. buying one because you 'might' have too many bugs sometime in the future doesn't sound like a great idea..

i could vouch for the tokays... they need KINDA big enclosures. i kept mine in 18x18x24 singly. he would down 2 dozen a week by himself, sometimes more, sometimes less..

Pacman frog eats pretty well too.
