Ok.....thats finished,Im sorry.
It happens, and nothing to say that will help with this.
Ok. Thank you for your help. I really appreciate everyone's help in this thread.

Does anyone know if there's anything that I should've done differently? Was the problem that there was too much humidity... or was the problem that I stopped watering it and it got dehydrated? It seemed to be thriving a few days ago, so I'm very confused and saddened about this. :(

Unfortunately it's near impossible to say. It's abdomen looked nice and round in the pics. So I personally would doubt it's dehydration.

Not all slings make it, I'm sorry. ☹ It is very obvious how much you cared about it and never easy to lose them.

@Sohki ...dont beat your self up over this.Next time, try this.this is actually a plastic dish from a blister pac from a Sudafed box. What i do is remove the foil covering and remove all foil.

Then very carefully trim back the plastic to the edges.I find scissors, found in the nail care section, work great.Trim as close as you can.You want to keep any sharp edges cut away.

Push the plastic"dish',into the substrate as even as possible.Fill it once a week.

I see. That's such a bummer. Cibu was my dream tarantula and I'm literally crying over them, even though I don't cry often. At least I got to spend a couple wonderful months with them. :) Thank you so much for your help. :)

R.I.P., dear Cibu. <3

Thank you so much for the advice; that is very clever. I'll definitely try that next time.

Sincere condolences. As others have said, some slings simply fail to thrive, there's a reason they produce so many offspring. It's never easy to lose an animal in your care, and these little arachnids leave big imprints on our hearts ❤

Four of its legs are curling beneath it; is this the beginning of a death curl, maybe? It is unresponsive and not acting like its usual self at all.

No, I'm not chasing humidity values... I just assumed it was too humid because I couldn't get the substrate to dry out and because I couldn't ditch the mites.
mites- too humid!

too hard to tell for me in that pic.

They do, indeed. Thank you so much for your kind words. They made me feel a little better. :) <3

Aye... I suspected as much. :( I feel terrible about it.

Yeah, the pic quality sucks. Sorry about that.

Very sorry for your loss  I lost a t last year for no apparent reason also. Some slings just don’t make it. Sometimes even given the best care they Just don’t make it.

Sorry for your loss, that's a dream species for a lot of us. Mites are a tell tale sign of too much moisture. Finding that happy medium takes some getting used to.

Thank you so much for the support. I'm so sorry about your t as well. :'( May they munch on roaches in spider heaven.

Thank you; I really do appreciate it. <3 Yeah, that's the main thing I've been struggling with lately. I hope I can get the hang of it.
